Professor D. M. Titterington (1945 – 2023)
We are very sad to report the death of Professor Michael Titterington. Mike served as Editor of Biometrika for the period 1996 - 2007. In 2001, he co-edited “Biometrika One Hundred Years" with Sir David Cox. On standing down as Editor, he became a Trustee of the Biometrika Trust, retaining that position until 2017. The journal benefited greatly both from his outstandingly wide and deep knowledge of statistics and from his sense of service, and the Trust relied on his wisdom and experience. We shall miss his kindness, humour and humility.
October 2022: Biometrika launches its new website
On October 1st, The Biometrika Trust officially launched its new and complete website which aims to house all things Biometrika moving forward.
January 2022: Biometrika Move to join The Applied Probability Trust in the School of Mathematics and Statistics at the The University of Sheffield
On January 1st, The Biometrika Trust decided to move its administrative operations from University College London to the University of Sheffield to join the Applied Probability Trust. The purpose of this move is to run both Trusts in tandem out of a single office in Sheffield's School of Mathematics and Statistics. Both Trusts will remain entirely separate organisations from a financial, legal and administrative point of view.
Both boards of Trustees are looking forward to working more closely together and embarking on this new adventure together.
